When you step into a logo design, the client will either know exactly what they want or have no idea. The challenge is to get into their mind and come up with something that speaks about them/product/company.

If they know what they want, provide it. But regardless, always give them several different ideas. Sometimes they may know that they want to say, but their idea may not say it well enough. Sometimes its right on the money.

The most gratifying part is when you are close and passing minor changes back and forth. The phrase "we are SO close" comes up in every conversation. A simple change here, a color change there, knowing any moment you will have success. When that moment comes, clients love it, and it shows on their faces. It's magic!
